Zakim Center’s Health Coaching Program
We are excited to announce a new health coaching program coming soon to the Zakim Center. The journey to better wellness can be challenging in the midst of cancer treatment and beyond. Emerging research is showing that health coaching may have significant positive effects on helping individuals with chronic disease improve their quality of life, mood, and physical activity levels. Cancer patients in particular can gain valuable benefits from regular physical activity and exercise, including reducing fatigue, improving mood, reducing anxiety, and helping to maintain a healthy weight.
Our health coaches will work with patients on an individual basis, and over a 12-week period, to empower them to make positive, sustainable behavioral changes to encourage more active and healthy lifestyle choices. Patients will have the opportunity to meet 1-on-1 virtually with one of our health coaches to establish their wellness goals, as well as participate in a fitness assessment and consultation with our exercise physiologist at the Zakim Center for individualized exercise programming. This program will be offered at no cost to Dana-Farber patients. For more information on program details and upcoming availability, please call 617-632-3322.
