14 Jul, 2025
Explore how creative arts activities can support relaxation to help you feel better and connect with others in the Dana-Farber community by joining the Zakim Center's monthly Creative Arts Online Workshops via Zoom. Materials will be provided and no experience is necessary to participate, but space is limited and registration is required.
*These programs are open to Dana-Farber patients and caregivers.

Abstract Acrylic Painting with the MFA – Join us this August to explore abstract painting. We’ll draw inspiration from a selection of magnificent contemporary paintings that are currently on view in the exhibition - Ebb and Flow: Contemporary Art from the Collection. Then we’ll experiment with different techniques for creating our own abstract paintings. This will be the perfect opportunity to relax and play with colors on a canvas!

Wednesday, Aug. 20, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. ET

Decoupage Shells – Hold on to summer just a little bit longer in our decoupage shell workshop. Using 4-5” white scallop shells as our canvas, and an assortment of decorated paper napkins, we will explore the art of decoupage, adding finishing touches with acrylic gold paint. Each participant will receive materials to create 3 finished pieces. Please feel welcome to bring any additional shells or paper napkins from your own collection, as well! Finished pieces can be used to hold trinkets or as accent art that will bring a pop of color and the joy of summer into your home.

Tuesday, Aug. 26, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. ET

*Please choose one workshop and email Zakim_Center@dfci.harvard.edu to register.
