  • Description: This standing, or sitting moving meditation is a great technique to help reduce side effects and symptoms of breast cancer and its treatment on a mental, physical, and energetic level. The gentle movements of your arms, or wings, help stretch, strengthen, and massage the upper body. Together with the deep breathing, the abdominal and back muscles moving in and out, as well as the visualization of the lower energy center, or the Sun, two inches below the navel in the center of the body. This series of medical and martial arts qigong movement is based on the crane, a symbol of longevity in eastern philosophies.

  • Description: fLoW is an educational and interactive drop-in virtual class designed to help patients manage lymphedema, lymphedema risk (lymph node removal and/or radiation) or generally support the lymphatic system by engaging in self-massage techniques and yoga. The instructors for this class are Maria “Bambi” Mathay, LMT, BCTMB, RMT and Barbara “Babz” Jackson Tobin, OTR/L, CLT-LANA, CYT. Is this class for me? This class is suitable for all patients who have lymphedema, lymphedema risk (lymph node removal and/or radiation), or a history of lymphedema. Modifications will be provided. What’s the structure of fLoW? Virtual 50-minute drop-in classes include instruction in general lymphatic massage and drainage, and a 30-minute yoga practice. Livestream classes can only be accessed by Dana-Farber patients.   • Description: Standing – no special equipment needed – if you need a quick workout and don’t have time to hit the gym, try incorporating this quick full body circuit into your daily routine. Energize and strengthen whenever you need. Juliana Berfield, PhD, E-RYT 500, CPT, will guide you through this fun and short video for a full body workout in minutes. 
    You can repeat these exercises 2-3 times for a longer workout or as “snacks” throughout the day.
